Class Features

❶ Small Class Sizes

Our small class sizes ensure that each child has plenty of time to speak. Activities are tailored to fit individual personalities and levels of understanding.

❷ Child-Centered Approach

We value children’s opinions and interests. Instead of the teacher making all the decisions, we encourage children to express their ideas and create an environment where they can freely express themselves.

❸ Self-Expression

Beyond just learning English, children will develop skills in voice projection, facial expressions, and conveying emotions and opinions.

❹ Tangible Growth

At the end of each session, we host a speech and role play presentation. Parents are invited to watch and celebrate their child’s progress together.

Speech & Drama

Our speech and drama lessons aim to comprehensively improve children’s communication skills. They practice the basic elements of speech (volume, clarity, and expressiveness) and enhance their creativity through drama and roleplay. By enjoying and understanding storytelling, children expand their vocabulary and develop their ability to express themselves in English. Additionally, performing and giving speeches build their confidence in speaking in front of others and foster teamwork and communication skills.

Speech Fundamentals: Introduce and practice the basic elements of speech, such as volume, clarity, and expression, to improve communication skills.

Dramatic Expression: Encourage imaginative play and creative expression through drama and role-playing activities, helping children explore different characters and scenarios.

Storytelling Skills: Develop storytelling skills by engaging children in creating and sharing their own stories, enhancing their narrative abilities and understanding of story structure.

Language Appreciation: Foster a love for language by exposing children to a variety of literary genres and language forms, including poetry, prose, and plays.

Vocabulary Expansion: Expand children's vocabulary through interactive word games and activities that introduce new words in a fun and memorable way.

Speaking: Build confidence in public speaking by providing opportunities for children to perform and speak in front of their peers in a supportive environment.

Listening and Comprehension: Enhance listening and comprehension skills through engaging activities that require active listening and understanding of spoken language.

Collaborative Learning: Promote teamwork and social interaction by involving children in group projects and collaborative activities that require communication and cooperation.

FAQ

Can you support children with different levels of English proficiency in the same class?

Certainly. The Saturday Explorers’ curriculum includes both activities with the entire class and small group activities tailored to each child’s level of understanding. There are two teachers, so they will provide the necessary support as the class progresses.

Can I observe the classes?

Each session consists of six lessons, and at the final lesson of each session, parents are invited to observe their children. Additionally, after each lesson, we will send a message detailing what was covered that day.

Is it possible to visit and observe a class beforehand?

We apologize, but we do not offer observation visits. Instead, we have scheduled trial lessons, and we invite you to participate in one of those.

Do you provide Montessori Education in this class?

No, we do not offer Montessori education in this class, but our school does have classes that follow the Montessori program. For more details, please see below.

Can I drop off and pick up my child by car or bicycle?

Yes, you can drop off and pick up your child by car or bicycle. However, if you come by car, please refrain from temporarily parking in front of the building or on nearby streets. Instead, please use coin-operated parking facilities for drop-off and pick-up.

Can I get a refund for the missed class?

We regret to inform you that refunds for missed classes are not possible. We appreciate your understanding in advance.
